Getting to Porta Genova is easy from any entry point into Milan: the district is served by the M2 metro, by several tram lines and lies a short distance from the main stations. Here's a practical guide to planning your arrival, whatever your starting point.

From Malpensa Airport

The Malpensa Express connects the airport to Milan in about 50 minutes, arriving at Cadorna or Milano Centrale. From Cadorna take the M2 metro (green line) towards Abbiategrasso/Assago and get off at Porta Genova FS: we're about a two-minute walk from the exit. Alternatively, a taxi from Malpensa takes 50 to 70 minutes depending on traffic.

From Linate Airport

From Linate the new M4 metro (blue line) reaches the city centre in about 12–15 minutes. With a change at San Babila onto the M1 and then to the M2 you'll reach Porta Genova comfortably. By taxi, Linate is about 20–30 minutes from the district.

From Bergamo-Orio al Serio Airport

From Bergamo airport, shuttle buses reach Milano Centrale in about an hour. From there the M2 (green line) takes you straight to Porta Genova in a few stops, with no changes.

From Central Station and other stations

From Milano Centrale the M2 connects directly to Porta Genova in about 15 minutes. From Milano Cadorna and Milano Porta Garibaldi the M2 link is just as direct. Porta Genova FS station itself is served by suburban regional trains.

By car

If you're arriving by car, bear in mind that central Milan is regulated by limited-traffic zones. Porta Genova lies just outside the Cerchia dei Navigli: always check the current access rules and time bands on the City of Milan website before setting off. For parking, you'll find all the details in our dedicated parking guide.

The M2 Porta Genova FS stop is your reference point: from here you can reach Rooms Porta Genova in about a two-minute walk. The green line connects you without changes to Centrale, Cadorna and Garibaldi.
